CABLE SYSTEM TRUCKS: SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS AND PURPOSE
Cable system (cable lift) is a system for loading and unloading handling of demountable trucks bodies installed on truck chassis. It is one of the three common types of multilifts (besides the cable, there are also frame and hook lifts).
From the structural point of view, the cable system of loading and unloading the swap bodies constitutes a lifting frame with one end connected to the base of the truck chassis through of axial joints. The frame is lifted by power of the hydraulic piston system. Loading and unloading of demountable bodies is performed with the use of a winch with hydraulic engine, whose two cables are attached to the swap body and move the latter along the frame.
It is important to mention that the swing construction of the cable system frame allows tipper unloading of bodies which provide this option.
Just like it is with the other types of such equipment, the main advantage of cable systems is the possibility to use the same chassis for implementation of different types of tasks related to cargo transportation. The maximum weight capacity of these vehicles is on average between 18,000 and 32,000 kg, although there are models with both smaller and much higher (up to 65,000 kg) weight capacity.
The system of demountable bodies, a relatively high weight capacity, and the possibility of tipper unloading in fact make the vehicle a universal cargo vehicle, creating significant savings on the purchase and lease of additional equipment.
